About CBtriathlon

James Forsey looking intensely evil in his Barbarian horns and uniform

The photo says it all.  Intensity.  Fun.  Exercise.  Wearing hats with horns.  Let’s face it: triathlon rocks.

Almost everyone who does one does another.

How great is a sport where everyone, from the winner to the very last person who crosses the line, can have their best day ever?  Nobody has to lose.  It’s about personal improvement.  About doing better than you did last time.  Consider that only a tiny fraction of the population has the commitment, guts, talent, and grit to START, let alone finish, a tri, and you realize what an accomplishment it is to be out there “in the race”.

We have a fabulous group here in CB.  When I arrived back in 2003, there were only a handful of people doing the sport.  Now, we have a thriving group of 100+ people that, like a snowball, grows faster and bigger as it rolls along.

Velo Cape Breton has over 200 members.

The Cape Breton Crawling Crustacea have over 70 swimmers.

The CB Roadrunners is attracting record numbers of runners, including 50% women! (finally)

The CB Barbarians Triathlon Team has over 100 active participants.

Framework Racing Team has weekly bike rides attracting dozens of riders.

The energy is palpable.  The growth is tremendous.  Let’s keep things rolling.

Wonderful addition to the sport’s scene in Cape Breton. Great format and excellent information. This is news we won’t see in the traditional media.

The group sure has snowballed over the last few years and it is full of people from all shapes, sizes and abilities. And that is what I like about it, all are welcome no matter if you are fast slow or can’t swim, ha,ha.
